Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) February 12, 2014
FirstService Residential Mid-Atlantic, the leading property management company in Maryland and Delaware, hosted a second educational roundtable in Baltimore, MD focused on high rise management best practice sharing. The three hour session was attended by board members from numerous high rise buildings in Baltimore and several FirstService Residential High-Rise Division associates.
Board members represented buildings currently managed by FirstService Residential as well as properties currently managed by other firms or self-managed. The informative session was moderated by FirstService Residential Maryland & Delaware President, Trent Harrison, and Mid-Atlantic Regional President, Michael A. Mendillo.
The session was held at The Carrolton Condominium Association a historical 8 story condominium building featuring over 100 units with views of Baltimore, access to dining, nightlife, entertainment, and cultural attractions. Two blocks away from Johns Hopkins University, The Carrolton is also within a short walking distance from Charles Village, recently named by the American Planning Association as one of the 10 greatest neighborhoods in America. The distinctive art deco building includes 24/7 front desk, underground parking and was the first residential building in Baltimore with central air conditioning.
The agenda was developed based on feedback from attendees. Topics included standard operating procedures each property should have in case of emergencies, financial oversight and controlling association expenses, association pet policies, and annual staff bonuses. The knowledge sharing amongst attendees was robust and the takeaways were numerous. The overarching themes were knowledgeable proactive management, as well as communication and collaboration between the board, management associates and owners.
“This event was an excellent opportunity for new and seasoned Board Directors to meet their area colleagues and share their experiences on very common topics” said Dick Troy, Board Member of Penthouse Condominiums.
“This was the second successful educational best practice sharing roundtable we have held in the Baltimore area within the past several months,” said Trent Harrison, President of FirstService Residential Maryland & Delaware. “The participation, energy, exchange of ideas, and dedication shown by the board volunteers fuels our passion to continually develop and provide valuable solutions to communities.” He continued, “We are already planning the next roundtable for the Baltimore region and look forward to continuing the dialogue learning and sharing from our collective experiences.”
